Anyone Recommend REITs?
Q: "The memory of man runneth not to the contrary" about there ALWAYS being talk about double taxation of cash dividends on stocks. I've Been hearing it for more than the 41 years that I've been trading stocks. A Couple of years before I started trading, it was regularly talked about. Would the fact that this is an election year, and there are a whole lot of very angry stockholders buzzing about things like my own policy of DISELECT ALL of the criminally corrupt and wrongdoing legis critters, have anything to do with it?
A:
Health care REITs dealing with senior citizens are very nice to me. Pay
dividends from about 8 to 12 percent. Far better than leaving money in
the bank and better than most people can do playing stocks and robbers.
Then throw in a little price appreciation on top of the dividends and
you have a very nice profit picture.
The senior popul
for retirement and nursing facilities is going to boom like crazy over
the next 10 years or so.
Maybe long term. Eventually baby boomers will be ready to rent their last
apt. But not yet. Med/Dent supply is a safer bet for now. Nursing care
residential care facilities take a lot of money to operate and maintain.
