Will CMGI Survive Or Go Bankrupt?
Q: I am trying to raise some discussion about the company as I can't find any recent analyst reports on it, and I own an equity position and frankly am a bit concerned about its future. What drives this company and what assets have they sold to pay down the debt, and how will those sales affect the company? I also don't really understand fully how they make money and what needs to happen for the stock to go up in value. I have lots of questions and little input. So there you have it, have you an opinion you'd like to share?
A:
Yes that FMDAY was a generous 21% up today. W/ 6m shares traded, however. I
generally stick to stocks over 10 bucks that are instructionally traded. I
admit, I have been dabbling some with some ex-high flyers what have managed
to stay in the game through attrition and still hold value. Obviously
I'm still a rookie, as I have experienced
recently that in retrospect looked pretty lame. I guess any education has
its inherent costs.
Trading stocks which are institutionally
traded in the 10+ range is a reasonable
quideline. You are capable of earning
a higher percentage return than most
institutions. Study charts. Subscribe
to a chart service like TC2000. Analyze
wave patterns. Do you trade options?
Over the last several decades our losses
have greatly exceeded your nut, so do not
give up; we've all had some costly lessons.
I tried out TC2000 last year but didn't fully understand what it could do.
I will give it another look. I have used VictorVest in the past. It was
helpful in second guessing some of my picks. www.victorvest.com
For a total rookie I have treaded water ok while taking a few large hits. I
think I might shift to the higher grade companies for a while I work my
focus and trading skills.
I do like the biometric stocks as I feel it is the future of identification
standards. Viisage (VISG) being one I presently hold in my Roth IRA.
I understand that there was a steer in Austin, TX that could pick stocks
with 86% accuracy during the boom. I wonder if he was turned into
hamburger patties for McDonalds.
