Hello Everyone
Q: I've been lurking for a few days and have finally decided to declare myself as an involved participant in this group. That is, if you will have me. I'm retired, and just recently opened an account with Scottrade. I have a modest sum poised for action. I am a very inexperienced invester and am not in any hurry to make any moves just yet. I guess you could say I am in the boning up stage. I'm not really interested in long term investments at this time, I just want to make some free money and have some fun doing it. The truth is, I consider this whole thing like it was a computer game I just bought from the store. I'm still reading the rules and the directions. I think I got the install right. I keep adding patches to my favorites to help with my DD.
A:
You are investing into a heavily manipulated market with bogus TV news
reporting intended to pump the market. Believe none of it. The market is
about 50% overpriced at the rosiest look on average, many stocks are 500%
or more overpriced. The underlying basics are not good.
While gold will go up, gold stocks are often some of the biggest f
going, manipulated like the rest. By the time you get 'good news' the
stock is already up on that, and the insiders have shorted it. To take
advantage of the bad news, they plan to release as soon as it spikes.
Don't be 100% discouraged, just be careful. Learn and keep in mind that this
is currently a farce market, though there are still profits to be made. Start
with paper trading, and as you feel more confident in your skills, start
playing with small amounts, and go from there. Just read.., read this
newsgroup, read books, read articles on the internet, watch CNBC submerge
yourself in market information, and eventually you will be able to compete.
I'm glad you got that figured out. It's rather important for the
real subject of misc. invest. stocks, which is "to believe or not to
believe" the incredible hype and hoopla and official bilge and
fraudulent misrepresentation of those nonelected scammers who have
been defrauding the American people not only of our human and
civil rights, but also gutting and looting all value out of our
publicly owned corporations. Theres nothing whatsoever, that I
can do about the criminal destruction of American value systems
and American property and property rights by the criminal scammers
who have appointed themselves as legis critters and administrative
officials, and who in turn appoint the judiciary, other than trying
to avoid some of their more blatant swindles such as the Internet
Mania and the "deregulation" of the electric utility industry. It
boils down to often being "the best I can do is to not believe
their criminally inspired cover stories and spin doctoring".
Observing the facts of what is going on, especially with regard
to stocks where the fraudulent munchiments are required to report
in filings to the SEC and to admit their criminal wrongs even if
they are never prosecuted for them, is a whole lot more relevant
than believing in any of their interpretations of what's going on.
Credulousness is severely contraindicated when trading stocks. If
you want to be trading stocks, you had best learn real quick to
refrain from credulity about any of what "the leaders" have to say.
